If you go a few blocks west and a few hundred steps down from our house you'll find yourself at the edge of the Silver Lake reservoir. Afternoon basketball games play out adjacent to the always packed dog park. Whether you walk, jog or run, it's one of the nicest 3.75 mi paths in the city.

Local Delights: Echo Park Lake
Home to the Lady of the Lake, a paddle boat regatta, the Cuban music festival, street vendors, marathon training, and plenty of ducks, Echo Park Lake welcomes us as we spill out from the 101 freeway.

Local Delights: Mae Ploy
First introduced to us by friend, Kelly "Mama" Sears, Mae Ploy has a casual atmosphere paired with genuine friendly service. We LOVE the papaya salad, yellow chicken curry, Thai beef jerky and Keao - Sei.

Local Delights: Tropical
A little bit of Calle Ocho in the neighborhood. This cuban sandwich shop and bakery has tasty eats and the strongest mocha on the eastside. Recommendations: Pop Over with Jam, Napoleon , Guava pie, Mango shake.

Local Delights: Machine Project
Within walking distance from our house, Machine Project has been in our lives for quite sometime now. The proprietor is friend and collaborator, Mark Allen, whom we had the honor of working with last November as part of LACMA's Machine Project Field Guide.
